The City of Fountain, Colorado is located at the base of Pikes Peak.  Founded in 1859, Fountain is the oldest town in El Paso County, Colorado.  Fountain real estate was the agricultural hub of the region.  Cattle and crops were transported via railroad to and from Fountain.  In fact, when Colorado became a state, Fountain was considered for the state capital before being beaten by Denver for the honor.  In 1999, the City of Fountain was designated as the Millennium City by the New York Times.

Appletree Golf Course is an 18-hole golf course designed by Lee Trevino and Dave Bennett.  The course is 6407 yards from the back tees, with a par 72.  Rates for Monday-Friday are $23, $28 weekends/holidays, $18 for 55+ and military, $15 for twilight play and $12 cart fee.  After your 9 or 18 hole play, you can make a stop at the Tree Top Bar and Grill.  There is room for up to 125 guests at the restaurant, which makes it perfect for tournaments, weddings, banquets, birthdays or family/company gatherings.  They also offer a full service Sunday breakfast buffet starting at 8:30am.

Every Labor Day, the city puts on the Fountain Fall Festival.  There are so many activties to enjoy, starting with a parade and ending with a dance at the local firehouse.  It is fun for the whole family.
